This is great, Julie. Love the follow-up with the squirrel, too. Did you know that "moleskin" (without the 'e') is the name of a soft, shiny fabric that resembles the fur of a mole? I'll bet the original moleskines were wrapped in moleskin.

Yes, I did know about the moleskin. We used it in theatre as a backing on pieces of jewellery we'd made that were too rough. Nice to hear from you!
